Those who are looking to hit the road with Android Auto have a growing list of options to choose from. And the list is growing this month. If you happen to be a Kia vehicle owner, you might be getting Google’s infotainment system (as well as Apple Carplay) via a software update very soon.

Android Auto For Kia

Kia has just announced they are expanding their Android Auto availability to 8 models ranging from 2014 to 2017. These include the following:

• Forte (MY17)
• Optima (MY15-16)
• Optima Hybrid (MY15-16)
• Sedona (MY15-16)
• Soul (MY14-16)
• Soul EV (MY15-16)
• Sorento (MY16)
• Sportage (MY17)

Android Auto will come to these vehicles via an upgrade. Owners will get an email leading them to myuvo.com to check availability and receive step-by-step directions for upgrading their systems. These cars do have to come equipped with an AVN 4.0 or UVO 3 entertainment system in order to get the new software, though. If you believe you qualify, your best bet is to go and register for notifications, if you haven’t yet.

For those who may be out of the loop, Android Auto turns your vehicle’s infotainment system into an extension of your smartphone, but with a much more car-friendly interface that is meant to keep your eyes and attention on the road. You can learn all about it in the post linked right above.

Don’t have an Android Auto-compatible car yet? Don’t worry – recent news say the software is also coming to smartphones in the near future! When that happens, all you will need is a dashboard dock.

Getting the same information in digital format is so much less expensive and more convenient!Maybe you need the manual to fix the brakes on your K1500 Suburban, or possibly replace some worn out suspension components. Or you might need to get your engine running, or just do the required standard maintenance.
